Stacy's Arabesque
A jazz waltz with a hauntingly beautiful melody in the tenor with doubling by auxiliary vocals. The extended 86-bar form offers plenty of space for soloists to stretch out and develop ideas, yet avoids feeling "too long". There is a bridge/vamp after the solo section, followed by an interesting rhythmic-displacement motif on the abbreviated head out.
Note the available alternate parts that can allow this chart to be played by a 4-horn jazz combo with more traditional instrumentation.
